A highly productive 24 hour layover in Munich!
We had a 24 hour layover in Munich so we decided to make the most of it by staying at a nice hotel and eating/drinking to our hearts content. We got into Munich in the early afternoon so we put our stuff down and headed out immediately. The English Garden, our first and major stop, is one of the nicest parks I have ever been in. I think it parallels central park in many ways. It’s a multi use area that’s incredibly open and accessible. After walking a while we decided to sit down, obligatorily imbibe humorously large steins, and share a pretzel at the Chinese tower. By the time we were done it was getting cold and we were hungry so we made our last stop a traditional Bavarian eatery where we met a wonderful couple with whom we shared drinks and beers late into the night.
